King’s Men Ministry Yearly Service Agenda

 Vision Statement: “Men serving our King diligently to be leaders for His Kingdom”

Theme for the Year 2008:" Men serving and seeking him diligently”

Scripture I Peter 1:10-11: "10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. [1][1] " (KJV)

 Church Mandate: The Pastor in the fall church-wide business meeting in November 2000 recommended and approved by church that on the first Saturday in every month from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm be designated time for the King’s Men Ministry.

Dates confirmation:

All these dates are confirmed on February 26, 2008 at the calendar meeting with pastor and church clerk. These dates confirmed on the churches calendar and we will be going forth in the year of 2008.  Even though we didn’t get every first Saturday of each month, we can get the information to all the men well advance to advertise and promotes our efforts for the development of leadership characerisitics through fellowship and service to our Lord and King.

 

March 1, 2008 – Men and Boys Bash- “Showing Diligence”

a)      Leading  Coordinators:  Bro. Russell Taylor , Min. Joseph Franklin, Jr., & Bro. Gregory Wright

 

b)      Purpose: To introduce the plans for the year of 2008 for the King’s Men Ministry.

 

c)       To  fellowship and meet new brothers for the New Year. The following will be  accomplished during the session:

·         Obtaining Updated Contact Information for Directory

·         Presenting Yearly Program Agenda for the year of 2008.

·         Will be praying for our church and leadership of our church. (w/W.M. U. Exercise)

·         Power Hour Scripture Moment. (Promoting Bible Study.)

·         Offering for Next Experience (Food & Cloth-a-Thon)

·         Food will be served. (Subs and Chips)

·         Fellowshipping with new brothers and have fun & games.

 

 

April 5, 2008 – Spring Breakfast/Cloth-a-thon –“Serving with Diligence”

a)      Leading CoordinatorsBrother Robert Cancler & Bro. Gregory Wright

 

b)      Purpose: To serve community by giving, feeding and clothing those who are not as fortunate. This will give qualities of leadership in the sincerity of service to others and being a witness to of our Lord and Savior. The following will be accomplished during the session:

 ·         Able to witness to community for those who are in need. (Passing out evangelistic tracks)

·         Preparation and serving of breakfast. Also, providing spring clothing for the spring/ summer session.

·         Working together in service to others and cleaning up.

May 12, 2008 – Outreach Nursing Home Ministry – “Sharing with Diligence” 

a)      Leading Coordinators- Min. Joseph Franklin & Bro. Emmett Watkins

b)      Purpose: Sharing our time and talents volunteering at a Nursing Home to give the elderly our time and showing the love to our God.  The following will be accomplished during the session:

·         Provide a worship experience with the seniors with music (Male Chorus)

·         Have Minister bring forth a Sermon.

·         Taking care packages to seniors with designated necessities.

·         Men and boys volunteer to assist where directed by event staff coordinators of the nursing home.

June 10, 2008 – Community Car/Bike  Wash – “Working with Diligence”

a)      Leading Coordinators: Bro. Russell Taylor , Devin Bassett, Jr.  &   Christopher Nappier

b)      Purpose: To get the young men partnered with the adult men in becoming active in giving to the community. Any donations that are taken will be used for a youth activity voted upon for the August event. The following will be  accomplished during the session:

·         Get the young men involved in serving community.

·         Donations that are given will be allocated for agreed event voted on by youth for August.

·         Food will be serviced to the workers (Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Snacks)

June 14, 2008 – Church-Wide Fellowship – “Leading with Diligence”

a)      Leading Coordinators – (Voted on in April 08 for Co-Chairmen of Men’s Day)

 

b)      Purpose- This is the church-wide annual fellowship which is at Cosco Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland from 10am – 5pm. This will give the men leadership experience in service before this church-wide event. The park-site is confirmed and the fellowship is budgeted separately from the King’s Men Ministry.   The following will be accomplished during the session:

·    Oversight of the organization of the fellowship planning with Church-Wide Fellowship Committee.

·     Men will set- up the picnic site and provide the services of cooking.

·     Make sure clean-up has been completed on the fellowship site.

July 5, 2008 – Family Time– NO EVENT PLANNED

August 23, 2008 – Young Men’s Event – “Experiencing with diligence”

a)      Leading Coordinators – (Devin Bassett, Jr. & Christopher Nappier)

b)      Purpose- This event will be an enhancement for the young men to partner with an adult to engage in an activity that will bring togetherness in fellowship. Also, the young men doing the planning stages will learn how to work together with expectations of the ministry and the process of coordination of event planning.

August 31, 2008- Men/Boys in Worship Service- “Praising and Worshiping in Diligence”

a)      Leading Coordinators- (To be determine at a later date) (a male and a young man.)

b)      Purpose- A worship service just geared toward our theme for our men/boys.

 We have confirmed this date with Sis. Franklin, WMU Dir. and Sis. Hall, WMU President for the 5 pm time slot.

 Also, it is to expose all of the church for men’s worship service that will impact spiritually the lives of men and boys.  

September 6, 2008 - Family Time– NO EVENT PLANNED

November 8, 2008 – Men & Boys Potluck Workshop – “Learning with Diligence

a)      Leading Coordinators – (To be determine at a later date)

b)      Purpose- Learning the relevance of the Word of God in every man’s life.  The learning of God’s Word that will bring our King to a leadership role in our lives so, we can be what He has called us in leading family, church and community. The following will be accomplished during the session:

·         Every man will bring a dish of food to share with the others.

·         Will have bible study and guest minister to bring a workshop.

·         Establish discipleship principles and partners for the upcoming year 2009.

December 6, 2008 – Christmas Celebration Event – “Celebration of Diligence and Fatherhood”

a)      Leading Coordinators: Brother Russell Taylor and Min. Joseph Franklin, Jr.

b)      Purpose: A fellowship of the men and boys during the Christmas session that will enhance there knowledge on fatherhood and enjoy the spirit of giving for the session. The following will be accomplished during the session:

·         Have a Bible lesson on Fatherhood

·         Facilitate a present to exchange

·         Every Kings men to pick an “Angel Tree” male recipient.

·         Review the year of services of the ministry

·         Promote the discipleship agenda for the new year of 2009.

·         Get new ideas for events for the year.

·         Take an evaluation of satisfaction in ministry.

·         Discuss the expansion of the King’s Men Leadership Council.

·         Hear from our Pastor on his thoughts and ideas for the Ministry.
